Alfa Romeo  have in the past had a reputation for poor reliability and build quality. However in recent years, during the 1990’s Alfa Romeo began to shrug off this reputation with the introduction of new models like the stylish Alfa 156 and  the introduction of the well renowned Twin Spark engine.

 

As with most manufacturers Alfa Romeos can suffer from nigley little faults, but on the whole are quite reliable, provided that they are maintained at the correct intervals. Failing to adhere to this can have serious consequences.  For instance having your timing belt changed may appear expensive, but if left unchecked beyond the recommended replacement mileage could result in failure and be costly to repair the damage.

However problems like this can be avoided by having your car serviced regularly and carrying out simple checks.

 

But enough of the negatives, if you look after your Alfa, you will get many years of driving pleasure out of it and of course when you eventually decide to sell it, will pay dividends, as a car with full service history will retain its value far more compared to a poorly maintained car.
